Christmas in NYC

MVI_5656Spending Christmas in New York City this year was a long awaited bucket list wish come true!

We started out with a great dinner with friends and family at The Four Seasons Restaurant. The cotton candy was a huge hit among the other desserts.

Another special moment was high tea at The Plaza HotelThe tiny petit fours and tea sandwiches were beautiful and tasty. The room is spectacular and the hotel is decorated to make even adults stop for a moment to take in the spirit of the season.

Right around the corner are Bergdorf Goodman’s wonderful windows with shimmering crystals!

Next, we went skating in Rockefeller Plaza which is fun for kids young and old and provides it’s own brand of magic with gold flags waving and a tree that makes one’s heart stop. Everyone on the ice is fully present, many holding IMG_5896hands, laughing or holding on to little first time skaters. It made me smile to watch.

From there, we went to see the Rockettes at Radio City Christmas SpectacularWatching Santa and the dancers tell their special story brought tears to my eyes.

The play highlights in NYC were Hand To God and Hamilton. While neither are holiday focused, a little history and a little puppet fun (not for children) lent a thought-provoking moment to the mystery of the season!

Mostly…I came away from this adventure being so grateful for ALL the servers, shop keepers and public servants that make the holiday special. So many people come together around the world to make December a time to reflect on ourScreen Shot 2015-12-22 at 2.17.06 PM blessings, take in our hopes and dreams and bring joy to our friends, family and associates. It is also a time to be grateful for those that cannot be with us. No matter where you are, no matter how you celebrate, may you carry peace and love in your heart.

All my love,

Randy

PS, if you’re looking for a Christmas Day movie…Star Wars will not disappoint! May the force be with you.
